Volunteer

Give back through your time. TrueNorth has a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout our various programs.

Generate Generosity campaign logo

Join caring people like you when you volunteer at TrueNorth. You can make a real impact when you give your time to help our neighbors in need.

Helping others can be as simple as being a smiling face, offering kind words, restocking the Food Center, painting bowls or sorting toys. We have opportunities for all skill-sets and interests so you can find the best fit for you.

See the volunteer opportunities below to give back and generate generosity today!

Agency Support

Support daily administrative operations, such as sorting and documenting donations, managing mail, answering phones and operating our computer database.

Camp Newaygo

Camp Newaygo welcomes volunteers with diverse skills, whether it's assisting with catering, event support, gardening, or decorating for holiday events. During the summer, volunteers are also needed as drivers, for camp check-in and check-out and for office assistance.

Community Connections

Give back to the community by contributing handmade items, crafted in our Knitting and Baking All Together groups or join us as we help various departments on “Volunteer Fridays”. Volunteers are also needed to join our Call & Connect program to check in via phone call with some of our more isolated community members.

Hunger Prevention

Join us in providing hope and nourishment to our community! Volunteer in our Food Center, help with Mobile Food Pantry distribution, or curate Weekend PowerPacks for kids.

Mentoring

Help local youth thrive through our three unique TrueMentors programs. Assist in our school based TrueBlue Academy, navigate the outdoors as a Parks in Focus chaperone, or choose to become a Community based mentor.

Special Programs & Events

Assist with inventory, set-up, registration and event support for special events like Tools for School, Empty Bowls and Children's Christmas Program.
