Hunger Prevention

Hunger Prevention Programs decrease poverty and promote prosperity by working to ensure that all people in our community have consistent, dependable access to enough food for active, healthy living.

Food Center

We offer an on-site member-based Food Center to meet the nutritional needs of our community. Food Center members have access to services such as cooking classes, nutrition consultations, food preservation resources and referrals. Income eligible members are asked to contribute a small monthly membership fee of $11-$17 based on household size. Members may access the Food Center twice during each 30-day membership period anytime Monday through Friday between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (on days the agency is open). All food distribution is based on family size. To become a member, visit the TrueNorth Service Center in Fremont and bring a form of identification. To view membership eligibility, click on the membership FAQs below. Membership fees are assessed to support health and nutrition wraparound services and not exchanged for food.

In accordance with federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity.
