Housing & Family Services Division Director

Serve as the Division Director responsible for the professional leadership and management of TrueNorth’s Housing & Family Services Division which includes the Housing and Family Services Department, Center for Non-Profit Housing Department and new programs developed in response to identified human services needs. Responsible for developing inter-department synergy, program
growth, and creating cost efficient, highly effective services to reduce rural poverty moving participants toward self-sufficiency and addressing housing development and homelessness issues.

Housing Counselor

The Housing Counselor will provide a range of services to assist clients in achieving their goals of home ownership and financial security. Housing counseling services include home buyer education, pre-purchase individual counseling, and foreclosure prevention services. Financial coaching services include group and individual sessions focused on money management, credit, consumer protection, banking, debt reduction, insurance, and student loans. All services will be provided in accordance with National Industry Standards, HUD, and Michigan State Housing Development Authority policies and procedures. The Housing Counselor will also provide administrative support and assist in developing grant proposals, record keeping, and reporting.

Chief Operations Officer

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Operations Officer will oversee the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of TrueNorth’s administrative services and departments including: budget development and fiscal operations; human resources and diversity, equity, and inclusion; risk management; policy administration; facilities management; fleet maintenance; records management; agency reception;  technology equipment; and cyber security.   This position provides the leadership, management, and vision to ensure TrueNorth has the proper administrative controls, reporting procedures, and the right people in place to effectively increase operating efficiency and maintain financial strength and ensure legal compliance.  The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive, and energetic style, guided by TrueNorth’s mission, vision, and values.

emPower Client Engagement Center Advisor

The emPower Client Engagement Advisor provides self-sufficiency services to vulnerable populations and serves as the point of contact for eligible participants of the Michigan Energy Assistance Program (MEAP). The Client Engagement Advisor works to provide needs assessment, referral information, financial and energy education services, vendor advocacy and short-term case management services to support reduced energy consumption and promote energy efficiency to low-income households statewide. The Client Engagement Advisor will be required to enter a customized self-sufficiency plan and follow up outcome data on each household served in the CRM.

Project FOCUS! Program Assistant – Multiple Locations

Motivated and energetic individuals wanted to work part-time with the Project FOCUS after-school program (an initiative of TrueNorth Community Services). Open position working with first through eighth grades (depending on-site).

Primary responsibilities include student supervision, academic support during homework/enrichment time, leading/facilitating club activities, and interaction with parents/students/ and staff. Staff will be responsible to assist in the implementation of club-based activities.

The candidate must possess a desire and passion to work with children, good communication, and organizational skills.
