Wetland Trail Donation

Make a caring gift today to help clean up Camp Newaygo’s Wetland Trail. The trail was damaged after a wildfire broke out. Thankfully, the Newaygo Fire Department, along with support from the Fremont and White Cloud Fire Departments and the Department of Natural Resources ensured the fire was extinguished.

We are grateful for their quick action and support and now need caring people like you to help restore the trail. The damages from the fire include losing half of the wetland along with portions of the boardwalk and the teaching platform. Due to the fire aftermath, donations will help support the cleanup efforts to remove debris from the wetland and bog areas along the Wetland Trail.

Camp Newaygo Director, Jalisa Danhof states, “This trail, a vital sanctuary for plants and wildlife, is a source of peace and connection for so many in Newaygo County. We are deeply thankful to the first responders and our staff for their efforts, and we are touched by the outpouring of support from those who understand the importance of this trail for both recreation and conservation in our community.”

The cleanup process is expected to be costly, which is why we need your help to make it possible. You can make a real impact on our community by making a gift. Donate today and be confident you are helping build vibrant communities where everyone thrives.
