At the heart of TrueNorth Community Services is our mission: We empower people and strengthen community to inspire hope and build a brighter future.
We seek to help people discover positive change through our more than 80 programs and services that address their unique needs.
Through Housing and Homelessness Prevention, we provide rent and mortgage assistance, securing housing for those in crisis or who are homeless, emergency shelter and fire assistance, and seek to raise awareness about hunger and homelessness. We are a member of the West Michigan Housing Network.
Our Food and Nutrition Programs range from our on-site TrueNorth Food Pantry to USDA-supported school meals.
Helping those with Health and Medical needs, we provide the LifeLink medical emergency alert sytem, medical equipment loan, and healthy eating classes.
Our Children's Services are designed to build healthy, thriving young people through our Children's Christmas Programs, Tools For Schools, Coats for Kids (& Adults) and other services.
Our case workers provide Family Support through long-term case management, goal setting, and evaluation and referrals with an overarching goal of family self-sufficiency.
Our Center for Nonprofit Housing is committed to assuring all members of our community have access to safe affordable housing, through foreclosure prevention, financial and homeowner education, and home buying assistance.
We assist older adults by offering a medical equipment loan program, LifeLink, and programs targeting our isolated, homebound senior citizens.
