On Monday, October 14, TrueNorth Community Services’ TrueMentors program will be holding a Meet & Eat Open House titled the Fall Chili & Soup Spectacular.
The purpose of the event is to offer the people of Newaygo County the opportunity to meet TrueNorth’s new Mentoring Programs staff and give them a brief overview of the programming they offer.
Hearty chili and soup will be served in an open house atmosphere from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the TrueNorth Service Center, located at 6308 S. Warner Avenue (M-82) just south of Fremont.
“I’m really looking forward to meeting people, introducing myself and Hannah Covert, and offering a brief overview of our vital mentoring programs,” said Lisa Brown, the TrueMentors Program Manager. “We have a number of children on waiting lists hoping to be matched with an adult mentor, and this open house is a great chance for anyone even remotely interested in being a mentor to have all their questions answered."
The event is free, but those interested in attending are asked to RSVP with Brown at TrueNorth at firstname.lastname@example.org or 924-0641, ext. 109, by October 10 to make sure they are able to provide enough food for everyone. Those unable to attend, but who would still like more information may contact Brown or visit www.truenorthservices.org/Youth-Programs/TrueMentors
