The three-day Bowlapalooza 2019 fundraiser at The Commons of Fremont in Fremont, Michigan, raised awareness and much-needed funds for TrueNorth Community Services’ mentoring efforts.
There were 117 bowlers from 26 teams raising money and bowling, bringing in $15,339.12. The circus-themed event was April 25 to 27.
There are 19 community-based and 27 site-based mentoring pairs currently active in Newaygo County through TrueMentors, with several youth awaiting a mentor match, said Chelsea Clark, Mentoring Outreach Advocate at TrueNorth. All proceeds go to recruit, enroll, and pair adult volunteer mentors with children needing them most.
The Fremont High School Teachers’ team topped Bowlapalooza 2019, raising $540. The top individual fundraisers were Emily Paige and Jennifer Thomas.
TrueNorth’s staff had 10 teams entered in the event. They brought in $5,570, including $1,855 by the Under the Big Top team.
