Two of the joys of living in Newaygo County are the peace and quiet, and the natural beauty of our surroundings.
Camp Newaygo is offering new and fun events to local people this Valentine season, highlighting the beauty of the camp’s surroundings in Newaygo County.
First, the camp will offer a culinary workshop, on either Friday, Feb. 8 or Saturday, Feb. 9, titled Sweetheart Stir Fry -- Culinary Workshop. Both sessions will start at 7 p.m. Guests will participate in a cooking class for two, featuring appetizers and a create-your-own stir fry, followed by a dessert of Matcha short bread and mango mochi.
With the optional overnight package, couples can stay in private rooms in Camp Newaygo’s newest addition, the Health & Leadership Lodge. The fee for the Friday and Saturday evening workshops is $40 per person, with overnight packages starting at $170 per couple. Register by Feb. 6 online at https://campnewaygo.org/events/culinary-workshop/.
Camp Newaygo’s summer Ridge Dinner Series will return for a winter event, Valentine’s Day Dinner on the Ridge, on Thursday, Feb. 14. The evening will include a four-course meal, live music and a cash bar. The evening will start at 6:30 p.m. with seared tuna canape and spinach and berry salad, and then either an eight-ounce Delmonico steak, shrimp and grits, or blistered radicchio for the main course. For dessert, a flourless chocolate torte will be served.
The fee for the evening is $40 per person, with overnight packages starting at $170 per couple. Register by Feb. 11 online at https://campnewaygo.org/events/valentines-dinner/.
