The TrueMentors mentoring program is offering two opportunities to be Mentor for a Day in January during National Mentoring Month.
You can see mentoring in action before making the commitment by spending three hours having fun with one of the kids on TrueMentors’ waiting list.
The Mentor for a Day opportunities are:
- Friday, January 18, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. for the Grand Rapids Drive-Fort Wayne Mad Ants NBA G League game at The Deltaplex Arena & Conference Center, 2500 Turner Avenue NW in Grand Rapids.
- Saturday, January 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NCCA-Artsplace, 13 East Main Street in Fremont.
TrueMentors' community mentoring volunteers are matched with Newaygo County youth between the ages of 5 to 14 years old in a one-to-one mentoring relationship for a minimum one-year commitment.
“TrueMentors matches young people with supportive adults, and they empower them to grow into their best selves,” said Chelsea Clark, Mentoring Outreach Advocate at TrueNorth Community Services.
