Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Newaygo County’s annual fun, fundraising event, Bowlapalooza is right around the corner and organizers are encouraging you to help make a difference in a child’s life by bringing them life-enriching mentors through TrueNorth’s BBBS program.

The event is all about kids. The more donations bowlers raise, the more children will benefit by having a Big Brother or Big Sister in their lives. Bowlapalooza is the single largest fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Newaygo County and organizers want readers to know that they can register and customize their online fundraising page athttps://bit.ly/bowl2016

“The online fundraising tool is really pretty cool. It’s easy to use and it’s totally secure, so it makes it easy for people to set and reach their fundraising goals for Bowlapalooza,” said Sam Dyga, BBBS of Newaygo County Program Director. There are also great prizes and fundraising incentives as well. Each bowler is asked to raise a minimum of $40, and for every $40 raised participants will receive a raffle ticket to win great door prizes throughout the night of the event. When bowlers raise $75 they will receive an awesome, newly designed vintage 70’s-look Bowlapalooza T-shirt. At $150, bowlers will receive a cool, retro lunch cooler. The top overall fundraiser will win two tickets to see 70’s legends; Journey AND the Doobie Brothers live on their “San Francisco Fest 2016” tour at the Van Andel Arena on August 2, 2016, and will also receive a gift certificate for dinner in Grand Rapids. Prize is awarded to the adult individual (21+) with the most donations collected and turned in at the time of bowl.

Bowlapalooza is for teams of five bowlers and if it isn’t obvious yet; the theme for this year’s event is a 1970’s throwback! Saturday, April 23: 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 28: 5:30 – 7:30 PM, and Friday, April 29: 5:30 - 7:30 PM – ALL at Fremont Lanes, in Fremont. Sign-up by contacting Sam Dyga at (231) 924-0641, ext. 109 or via email at sdyga@truenorthservices.org, or online at www.truenorthservices.org, simply click the “Bowlapalooza” link on the “News & Events” drop down on the homepage.
