Christmas comes early at Camp Newaygo, and you’re invited to join in on the fun at three separate events that offer something for everyone. “Christmas is always a special time at Camp Newaygo,” said Assistant Camp Director Jalisa Danhof. “Lang Lodge is beautifully decorated and we’ve got some great activities for people to enjoy – all right here in Newaygo so you don’t have to drive too far on these icy Michigan roads!”

First up will be Santa and S’Mores, on December 5 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. This event is ideal for the little ones as you and your family will visit with Santa Claus at Camp Newaygo’s North Pole! You’ll start your woodland trip by greeting Santa’s reindeer at their stables (yes, actual reindeer) then take a peek inside Santa’s toy shop where the elves are busy at work, and finish your journey with Santa himself. Our professional photographer will capture a perfect holiday portrait. Finally, head out to the campfire to roast a marshmallow and make a s’more. The cost is only $5 per person or $18 for families of four and includes everything – even a photo with Santa himself! No pre-registration is necessary – simply pay at the door.

Next up will be Santa Paws on December 6 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. Santa knows that pets are a part of the family too, and even if they are naughty OR nice, they can still get their picture taken with Santa. Homemade dog treats will also be available for sale. No reservation is necessary. $7 per furry friend, payable at the door.

For the adults, Camp Newaygo will offering Christmas and Cocktails on Friday December 11, beginning at 7:00 PM. Get your girlfriends, sisters or cousins together for a ladies only Christmas Party at “a lodge in the woods.” Male wait staff will cater to your table as you enjoy delicious finger foods with a plated gourmet homemade chocolate dessert. Bring a gently used purse for a “purse exchange”, and mixers to add to hot cocoa, eggnog or coffee. Returning after rave reviews, Alesha Brown will get you up on your feet to dance the night away. Register before November 25th for $20 per person ( $25 per person if registered after.) Your reservation fee includes food, gratuity, and entertainment. Please RSVP by calling Camp at 652-1184 or by sending in a completed registration form available at Camp Newaygo, at the TrueNorth Service Center, or on-line at www.campnewaygo.org

Lastly, they will be offering a traditional, holiday favorite; A Horse Drawn Holiday on December 18 and 19. Attendees will experience a vintage holiday celebration at Lang Lodge with a buffet of hearty homemade soups, bread, and salad. You’ll then bundle up for a horse-drawn wagon ride around Emerald Lake for the starry trek around the snow-covered, tranquil shore to enjoy all the festive Christmas lights. Upon return, guests can warm up by the fire with hot cocoa, hot mulled cider, and dessert. There will be three seatings available on Friday the 18th at; 6:00, 6:45, and 7:15 PM and Saturday the 19th at; 5:30, 6:15, and 6:45 PM. Space is limited to 12 per seating, so reserve your spots early. The Cost is $27 per adult, $15 per child 12 and under, and free for infants 1 and under. They’ll even have PB&J available for the little ones.
