Halloween is a favorite holiday of kids all over the country, and Camp Newaygo knows how to make it fun at their annual Halloweekend festivities. Give your Halloween costume a trial run!

Halloweekend takes place October 23 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., and October 24 and 25 from 1:00–5:00 p.m. at beautiful Camp Newaygo, located at 5333 Centerline Rd., Newaygo. Activities include: “not-too-spooky”cabin tours, Halloween crafts, scarecrow making, homemade donuts, face and pumpkin painting, a genuine cider press, trolley rides, and much more. Family-friendly means affordable, and Camp Newaygo’s Halloweekend is only $5 per person or $18 for a family of four, which includes just about everything, including a family pumpkin and family scarecrow. Extra pumpkins will be available for purchase as well.

Also, the Tree Canopy Zip Line will be open to the public on October 23 from 5:00–7:00 p.m. and October 24 from 1:00–5400 p.m. Soar 85 feet in the air through the tree canopy for over a thousand linear feet of adrenalin-pumping zip lines; how’s that for scary?! Riders must be at least 43 inches tall and weigh at least 50 pounds. All riders must sign a waiver, children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and parents or guardians must sign the waiver for children. The Loop Zip, which covers the first two sections, is $12 per rider; The Dual Zip, which is the longest section and features two dueling zip lines is $15 per rider; or ride the Complete Canopy Tour for only $22 per rider. Just about anyone can do it with their easy-access launch/landing platforms accessed via stairs, and smooth, gradual “walk-off/on” take-off and landing ramps.

Volunteers are also needed to help decorate the “spooky cabins.” If your group is interested, please contact Dylan Kett at dkett@campnewaygo.org before October 19. For questions and group reservation information, contact Kett at 231-652-1184 or at the email above.
