We are proud to announce the start of a new program called TEAM (TrueNorth Employment Access & Mentoring), which will bridge the gap between employers and potential employees. The program is designed to bring the community together, to overcome barriers to employment.
Via FREE workshops, mentoring partnerships, and support groups, TEAM gives program participants access to employment services and educational opportunities, while mentoring them throughout the process. The program offers flexible and personalized services to individuals that are; job hunting, seeking a more sustainable career, and in need of help facing barriers and / or obstacles to obtaining sustainable employment. Based on the needs and interests of each individual, TEAM caters services provided; setting goals, a career path, and linking them to available resources throughout the area.
Working together with community partners and local employers, TEAM will be able to help meet the employment needs of Newaygo County businesses by creating ways to overcome barriers for both employers and employees alike, thus having a positive impact on individuals, their families, and our local economy.
Employers can increase their targeted recruitment and retention efforts, and obtain employees that have received individualized guidance and support, helping them to be better prepared and committed employees. Employers will also have the opportunity to mentor or train individuals to be more strategic in their career paths, and take part in strengthening their commitment to our community.
