You can help make a difference in a child’s life by bringing them life-enriching mentors through TrueNorth’s Big Brothers Big Sisters, so spare the excuses and strike up your friends, co-workers, and relatives to team up with you at Bowlapalooza 2014.

Bowlapalooza brings together teams of five to bowl and have fun, but more importantly, to raise money that goes directly toward recruiting, enrolling, and matching volunteers with children needing them most. To make it easy to participate, we’re moving the event to late April / early May in our best efforts to avoid bad winter weather. We’re also offering a variety of dates and times, and once again - two locations this year for your convenience; Fremont Lanes in Fremont and Underdog Lanes in White Cloud.

  • April 25: 5:30 – 7:30 PM and 8:00 – 10:00 PM @ Fremont Lanes.
  • April 26: 3:00 – 5:00 PM, 5:30 – 7:30 PM, and 8:00 - 10:00 PM (for the “Super Salon Challenge”),  @ Fremont Lanes
  • May 2: 5:00 – 7:00 PM (for educators), and 7:30 - 9:30 PM @ Fremont Lanes
  • May 2: 5:30 – 7:30 PM, and 8:00 - 10:00 PM @ Underdog Lanes
  • May 3: 3:00 – 5:00 PM, and 5:30 – 7:30 PM, @ Underdog Lanes

The event is all about kids. The more donations bowlers raise, the more children will benefit by having a Big Brother or Big Sister in their lives. “Bowlapalooza” is the single largest fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Newaygo County - be a part of something big! You can even create an online fundraising page at

There are also great fund-raising incentives, door prizes, and special prizes for the top fundraisers. Bowlers are asked to raise a minimum of $40 in pledges, and for every $40 in pledges raised, bowlers will receive a raffle ticket for great door prizes; bowlers who raise at least $75 in pledges will receive a cool 2014 Bowlapalooza shirt; at $150 raised, bowlers will receive a roll-up fleece blanket – perfect for picnics in the park and outdoor events; and the top fundraiser will receive a really awesome grand prize as well (to be announced). The grand prize will be awarded to the adult (aged 21+), with the most donations collected and turned in at the time of bowl. Teams can sign-up by contacting Lisa Daniell at (231) 652-1184, or via email at, or online at, simply click the “Bowlapalooza” link on the “News & Events” drop down on the homepage.
