One way to help the hungry in our community is to donate fresh produce – a food staple that can be elusive for those who are struggling.
The Plant a Row for Hunger/Harvest a Row for Hunger campaign is in its 18th year of bringing fresh vegetables and fruits to Newaygo County households who might otherwise do without.
In 2018, nearly three tons – 6,082 pounds – of produce were donated through the program.
To take part, drop off food at the TrueNorth Food Pantry, located at 6308 South Warner Avenue in Fremont, weekdays.
