PACE (
Partnerships, Academics, Community, Excellence) is an out-of-school collaboration of nine community learning center programs that implement mentoring, civic engagement, high adventure, and academic enrichment activities.
The program is designed to bridge gaps for students and families by enabling them to access services and educational opportunities. Working together with the schools, PACE positively impacts families and helps to improve academic performance.
TrueNorth Community Services and the five school districts of
Baldwin,
Hart,
Hesperia,
Walkerville, and
White Cloud are partnering together to provide programs designed for ninth through twelfth grades. Programs are geared towards encouraging students to excel through a diverse set of after-school programs and active involvement in the community. Goals include; maximizing student success via experiences in out-of-school time activities, increasing academic achievements via multiple academic supports, strengthening life skills and character assets via diverse enrichment outlets, and exposing students to career and college based opportunities. PACE receives funding through a 21st Century Learning Center grant from the Michigan Department of Education.
PACE offers age-specific and mixed group programming to suit the needs of the school and students. You can learn more about our specialized programming, including the Apprenticeship Program, by clicking the Publications & Forms link to the left. If you have a student who attends one of these schools and would like to attend, please contact the appropriate site coordinator listed below.
