Please join us on January 24 from 6-8 p.m. in Newaygo. We have designed a Circles Newaygo County program to begin connecting the dots between employment barriers identified by West Michigan employers through Talent 2025, the key barriers identified by Newaygo County Circle Leaders and the policy agendas at the state and national level.
- To bring greater awareness to the top barriers to employment identified by Talent 2025, specifically Education & Skills, Child Care, Transportation and Substance Use
- To highlight the barriers encountered by workers in Newaygo County and how the Circles program can help to mitigate them
- To provide the opportunity for our state and federal elected officials to advise us on key legislation to remove or mitigate employment barriers.
After an overview from Talent 2025 and a brief introduction to the Circles program, we will have 30 minutes to hear from our federal and state legislators about the policies in place to move more Michigan residents into the workforce. This will be followed by an opportunity to engage in dialogue with state and federal legislators.
Date: Thursday, January 24, 2019
